The Night of a Thousand Weddings
OK.. it was not nearly that many weddings, but we (Simply Interactive llc) did handle several weddings over the weekend. I personally was on location for two of them while a total of 8 other guys were out and about doing various tasks for various weddings (speaking of which... I need some members of the feminine persuasion to work for me as videographers (know anyone?).
I was joking with another vendor at Nikole and Kyle's wedding on Saturday (August 28th), that doing this many weddings in one weekend is not nearly so frightening once you get everythign down on paper, send everybody where they need to go, and get everyone back with their progress reports. In other words... once it is over with it is not scary anymore.
I kid. It isn't scary at all really. It is a simple matter of knowing what to do and when. The only way to do that is to plan it out to the minute details.
Nikole and Kyle's wedding was fantastic not only from a "hey that was a great party" standpoint, but I was really blessed to be around a crowd of people that loved eachother deeply. And those were just the friends. The family was a whole different level. As a true multimedia company in the bay area that focuses on weddings as a core part of its business, I have to sya that seeing that kind of sincere love is endearing.
All of them were very receptive of the videographers, played to the cameras, and made both of us feel welcomed and appreciated. So much so that at the end of the night at the
Mill Valley Community Center (a truly fantastic place to have a reception, but please do not judge them by the website) they had asked us to stay longer, but not to video... they wanted us to party with them.
The real prince of the vendors, though, was the DJ. Flat out, awesome person, read the crowd when the party slowed, and brought it back up every time, and worked very closely with me in order to be sure I was able to capture everything I needed for the bride and groom. That's the kind of service all wedding vendors should offer, but few offer it to such a high level. I can only hope Nikole and Kyle think of me in those terms too. The DJ was Russ of

Sunday the 29th brought in Gina and Steven's wedding in Walnut Creek at
Blake's at the Boundary Oak. The place is a truly magnificent golf course with elegant grounds, and professional staff. The dcorations were phenomenal. I have not edited the video yet so I can't show an image of what they did, but they did leave me a card.
